Taking Successful 'Life Changing Notes' . . . while listening to Your Pastor or Teacher!

Part 1 of 2.

Take Notes! It's one way to keep you '
awake' during Church :)

Awhile back, someone asked 'Jim Lewis', "how do you remember scriptures and parts of the Bible?".

"Hey, I know his secret!" says Faith Man, and in today's LEJ, I will reveal part of it!!  Eh, Please don't tell Jim I told you 😉.

Ah, 'taking notes' in Church and Sunday School . . . such a blessing to do and to have fun with!!! 

Really, Note Taking is the secret??!!
How many of you remember 'taking notes' in school?  
(Ugh, didn't like it then - but the tables have turned!!)

Or how about, writing 'love notes' (pre-text phone era) to your favorite girl or boyfriend at the time?? 

(Oh, that was much more fun!)

We need to learn to more about God's Love and His truth daily.  And, as we study His Word and listen to the Word being taught, it is important to take good notes and use a method that feels comfortable to us for memorization and application in everyday life.  This is what is meant by being transformed by renewing your mind.

Below is 'Faith Man' revealing Methods 1 and 2 of 'Jim Lewis' ' secrets!! (shhh!)

Faith Man: 'Jim Lewis' uses 4 different methods of note taking that can be applicable for learning and application in our lives.  I have the 4 methods from his study notebook.  I will show you Method 1 and 2 today!  It's Okay to use them, just don't tell Jim I gave them to ya!

Method #1 - This method uses pictures and cartoons to help remember portions of scripture or sermon illustrations.  It is very effective because the human mind mostly remember data and stories by using pictures!  Check this John 3:16 scripture picture out!

Method #2 - This method uses the standard outline form to help remember portions of scripture or sermon text.  This method can be short on info, but will help the writer to recall portions of the message when reviewed later in the day or later in the week.

There you have method's 1 and 2 as wrote down by 'Jim Lewis'!  Please don't tell him I told you so!

It is important to review your notes often and test yourself on what you wrote!  You will be surprised on what you remember from the teaching or sermon!
