Add To Your Habits . . .

Good Morning Dear LEJ Friends,
Hope your day is off to a good start.
After all, This IS the Day that the Lord has made! f.m.

Yesterday, 'Faithman' challenged us to write down our 'Habits'.  Yes, some were 'good' habits and some were 'bad' habits.

Did you know that before we can get rid of a 'bad habit' we have to replace it with something??

That something can be a 'good habit' or a discipline that requires effort at first.  Then, the 'habit power' takes control and puts us in motion.
There there is a saying that says;

"'Objects' that tend to 'stay idle', will 'stay idle'; "'objects' that tend to 'stay in motion', will 'stay in motion'".

This simple saying is why we at times, don't want to change our 'bad habits' because it requres 'effort at first' to rid ourselves of the 'bad habit'.  But, once 'the energy' is exerted on the 'bad habit', then 'the effort' that transformed our 'bad habit' changes into our 'good habit' and the rest is history.  Our 'bad energy' has now become our 'good energy' for doing the 'good habit'.

This may be a little deep for 'our thinking styles', but it does work!

The Apostle Peter wrote about this in his letters to the Church.  Please read.

"According as his divine power hath given unto us all things (good habits) that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue (good habits):  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith (the habit of) virtue; and to virtue knowledge (a habit of);  And to knowledge temperance (a habit of); and to temperance patience (a habit of); and to patience godliness (a habit of);  For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ".
2 Peter 1:3‭-‬6‭, ‬8 KJV

See, the Apostle of Peter knew of the qualities of establishing 'good habits' in our lives so that we would reap a character that will be 'Christ-like'.  When we practice such habits, this then changes us and our world and people around us!

Start today in doing the 'small habits' such as adding to your faith ... patience, godliness, etc and watch how worry and stress leaves 'your daily world'.

Amen!

Have a great week!
