"Thoughts" Part II

Happy Saturday Dear LEJ Friends!

Wow, the month of September is 'zipping by' !!!

Today's message continues on 'Thoughts".

"Thoughts"

"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God". Jesus (Matthew 4:4)

"The one thing that you can't take away from me is the way I choose to respond to what you do to me.  The last one's freedom is to choose one's attitude in any given circumstance". Victor E. Frankl (Holocausts' survivor & famous neurologist & psychiatrist)

"When we discipline our thought life in God's Word, we then will experience the power of God's Word in our lives and His peace and presence everyday." F.M.

'Thoughts,' oh, if I could just turn 'them off' sometimes.

But, I don't really believe that is possible.

POWER TO CHANGE, RE-PROGRAM
We do have the power to change our 'thoughts', discipline our 'thoughts' and bring our 'thoughts' to God.  The apostle Paul challenged us to 'bring every 'thought' into captivity to the 'obedience' or discipline of Christ (see 2 Corinthians 10:5b).

In these days of uncertainty, believers in Christ have a 'super-power' that the unbeliever does not have.  That is the 'super-power' of God's Word that changes us and challenges us and changes us via God's Word being in our 'thought' processes throughout our day.   The longer I live, the more I am challenged to learn how God's Word being planted in my life causes me to experience God's Joy regardless of my circumstances.

I recently read that it was discovered that one's attitude about life is usually formed around age 10.  So then, perhaps our personalities, our attitudes and life-focus today stems from that time period in our lives.  Think back to when you were 10.  Did you have parents or guardians who were encouraging or one's that were discouraging?  Were they full of joy or were they judgmental and quick to find fault?  These attitudes can damage a child's outlook on life forever.

But, there is great news!  We can still change when we make the effort to 're-train the brain' with God's Word!

Please Read:

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God". Romans 12:2 NKJV

'Renewing Your Mind'

Starting next week, the LEJ series will begin a set of teachings on 'renewing your mind' and scripture memorization that is sure to give you the 'super-power' that God intended us to have from the beginning of time.

Amen!

Enjoy your Saturday.
