Target: God's Gift of Blessings

 Good Morning!

It is Thursday already, and I am continuing on 'God's Gifts' from 'A to Z' list as mentioned in our LEJ lesson just a few days ago.  Today is God's 'B' Gift!

Writing these messages are such a 'Blessing' for me to do.  It is like "Gee Lord, this is really FUN"!  Thank YOU Lord!!  He provides the inspiration and all I have to do is the writing!  And in the benefit of opening His 'Blessing Gift' to you, I get 'Blessed' writing it!

'Blessings'

I'm opening the 'Blessing' Gift to you now.

The Lord bless you
And keep you
Make His face shine upon you
And be gracious to you
The Lord turn His
Face toward you
And give you peace
Amen, amen, amen
Amen, amen, amen

Did you know that the word 'Blessing' appears over 426 times in the Bible in 13 different translations??

The word 'Blessings' word is also known as 'Blessed' throughout the entire Bible and is to be meant and experienced the same way.

The Word 'Blessed' first appears in Genesis 1:22:

And God 'blessed' them, saying be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

Then again 'Blessed' appears in Genesis 1:28 after God created man:

And God 'blessed' them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the seas, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

The word 'Blessed' in the Hebrew text is 'barak' when means to bless, salute, praise, congratulate.

Then at the very beginning of the New Testament, the word 'Blessed' was used by Jesus throughout the Beatitude Sermon.

The word 'Blessed' in the Greek text is 'makarios' which means 'blessed, happy, & made happier'.

When God tells us we are 'blessed', we are 'Blessed'!  He showers us with His favor and blessings.  God says it, our job is to believe it and take God at 'His Word'.  When we do this, we actually start to open God's Gift of 'His Blessing'.

May we start today believing and receiving those 'Blessings' from our Heavenly Father.  And, as we believe, the 'Blessings' begin to come and over take us!  Enjoy His Presence Daily. Amen!

God Blessed you!

Jim
