The 'Mouth' . . . . The human heart relief valve!

For Out of the 'abundance of the heart' . . . . the mouth 'fruit' speaks.

Wow.

Jesus describes our 'mouth' (or our 'speech') as a method to determine what 'fruit' is being produced in our hearts.   Jesus is to 'the point' about making our lives good, and our keeping the fruit of our lips 'good'.

The real 'truth' about our lives is known by what we speak about and how we speak.

Please read:

'"Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."'
Matthew 12:33-34

Have we ever listened to ourselves talk?  Or have we ever listened to our thoughts?!! Our thought life is really what determines our outward life!!  Keep those bad thoughts, and anger thoughts locked up and throw away the key!

If we had a tape recorder or device that taped everything we said in a days time and replayed it in the evening would we be encouraging ourselves or be embarrassed by what we said??

Reminds my of a story about a mountain climber who was having a 'bad day' on his recent mountain trip up.

His 'echos' were resounded back over and over again.

Here's the dialog:

Mountain Climber: "Having a 'Bad Day"!
   Mountain:  Having a 'Bad Day'?
Mountain Climber: "Who said That?"
   Mountain: "Who said That?"
Mountain Climber: "Who said That?"
   Mountain: "Who said That?"
Mountain Climber: "Who said What?"
   Mountain: "Who said What?"

Finally, the Mountain Climber figured it out about the echo talking back to him.

And changed his talk.
Here's the change:

Mountain Climber: "Gonna Make it!"
   Mountain:  "Gonna Make it!"
Mountain Climber: "To the TOP"!
   Mountain: "To The TOP!"
Mountain Climber: "Wow, I like this mountain!"
Mountain: "WOW, I like this mountain (climber)!!"
Mountain Climber: "Who said That?"
Mountain: "Who said That? - YOU DID SILLY!!"

With that the Mountain Climber wondered "who said that" and made it to the TOP!

Whether we are climbing mountains, or climbing over a load of washing or doing any project, we must do the absolute best we can humbly do and before you know it, the task or mission is done.

It is not that the work saves us, but the way we do our task reflects the attitude of the heart.  So, let our 'gospel speech and workds' reverberate outwards to those around us.

You never know who, or what mountain may be listening in!!

Mostly, WE, OURSELVES ARE LISTENING IN!

AMEN!

PS: What we are sending out in thought, deed & speech, will come back . . .  possibly 7x greater! Let's watch our thoughts . . . our thoughts will become actions if we are not careful!

I like a good harvest, don't you??!!
