Ye Old RailRoad Tracks

Today's One Word Scripture: 'This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and 'LOOK' around.  Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls" '. Jeremiah 6:16a

One Word for Today: 'LOOK'   

Today's writing will be on 'LOOK' ing to God to & for His Ways.

 

God has been giving good directions for man since the beginning of time.   So then, why don't we LOOK for the 'good old godly way'?  

Recently while riding my bike I came across an old Railroad Track crossing on my journey and stopped, and LOOKED down the tracks thought about how years ago how the Railroads were a good source of transportation for many. 

In our present 'Church Age' its seems as if the Church has lost its power and wonder because it has failed to 'LOOK' for the old godly way.   I have often thought about the excitement that there must have been on the day of Pentecost when all those who were there in Jerusalem when the blessed Holy Spirit fell on that Special Day.  

It saddens me a bit, when I think about how things 'could be today' if we would just 'LOOK' for the Holy Spirit to move in the midst of our daily lives.   Things would be much different in the Church and then the Church would definitely influence the World for good.  

In the 1700's in the USA, there was such strong devotion to the Lord at that time and many colleges and universities were founded upon Christian principles and the Word of God.  These educational institutions today have thrown out the Word of God and have now embraced humanistic teachings as their source of wisdom.  

The Church then wonders, 'why it has lost its power and influence in the World'?

So then, what do we do??  We 'LOOK' to the scriptures.  

We wait upon the Lord for new strength and His direction.  

Then follow with the power of the Holy Spirit leading us in our everyday lives and in our Church gatherings.  

Yes, LOOK 👀 for the Good, Godly Way and walk in it.  

Then, we will find rest for our souls and perhaps a period of rest in this world!
