Season of Advent: 'The Angels Message' "Good Tidings, Great Joy"

Good Morning!
How in the world are you this morning?
I sure hope that all is well in your household this morning. 😌

Here we are in the 3rd Week of Advent.  During this Advent Season I am reading several Bible Lessons about the Birth of Christ and the Advent season book that has recently piqued my interest concerning the 'Angel's role' before time and at the time of the Birth of Christ.

There were many 'angel events' that are recorded in the Bible, particularly at the time of Christ's birth.  These 'angel's' offered comfort, assurance, guidance, warning and announcements with whom they had come in contact with which were part of God's Holy Plan.  The angels were seen and heard, and revealed in their form during these important prophetic events here on earth.

One of the 'angel's announcements' that particularly interests' me is the story of the angels announcing the Birth of Christ to the shepherds:

'And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it , they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. ' Luke 2:8-20

Wow, what a great occupation at that time to be a shepherd!!

What I took from this scripture account of what was recorded about angels is:
  • Angels like to bring GOOD NEWS & JOY!
  • Angels give direct & accurate information!
  • The Angels Band, appeared and praised and sang "Glory to God in the Highest"
  • The Angels announced Peace, Good Will toward men.

Now let's apply the 'angels roles' for today.  The role is that they will do the same for us as we serve the Lord in bringing good news, joy, direct and accurate information and will announce peace and good will to our souls!

'And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, And his ministers a flame of fire. Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?' Hebrews 1:7,14

Yes, And they are ministering spirits for the heirs of Salvation (& that's us!!).

Angels, 'we have heard on high!'
faithman!

Let us proclaim the 'GOOD NEWS' this Christmas!
CHRIST IS LIGHT and BRINGS LIGHT TO DARKNESS!

  1. The Angels Band, appeared and praised and sang "Glory to God in the Highest". Could "Soul'd Out" be part of that Angels Band, I wonder?

  2. I believe so!

I was daydreaming the other day, and I thought about Heaven and what it will be like . . .

I think that I will be like 'doing the things we like to do' now, but without the limits of time and space and all for the 'Glory of God'!

So then, as us musicians like to play music, we will join the angel band with songs and melodies of praise that will sound out forever. Yes, the 'Angel Band' will play 'Songs of Praise' forever!!!
